About the Orlando Baseball Academy

The goal of the Orlando Baseball Academy is to provide a learning environment for player development and to teach team concepts in a very individualized game.  We believe that there is a certain way that you should play America's game. We want to teach the youth players of Central Florida the proper way to play the game using proper mechanics and technique to prevent injuries as the players get older.

We work very diligently to help high school age players find the best environment for them at the college level. We help them find a place that suits all of their needs taking into consideration baseball ability, academic ability, and the right surroundings for them to have a successful college career.

The Orlando Baseball Academy was organized in the summer of 2003 to provide high school aged players the opportunity to play outside of their high school teams.  Since that summer, the Orlando Baseball Academy has continued to improve it's program, adding many outstanding high school age players. Since beginning the program the Orlando Baseball Academy has had 504 players that have graduated from high school and 303 of those players have moved on to play eitehr college or profressional baseball.

The Orlando Baseball Academy has had 7 former players go on to play in the major leagues.  Eric Hanhold (Mets), Ryan Mountcastle (Baltimore Orioles), Nick Goody (Yankees, Indians, & Rangers), Max Moroff (Pirates & Indians), Justin Nicolina (Miami Marlins), Shane Greene (Yannkees, Tigers, & Braves), Meike Freeman (Mariners & Indians), Three more former OBA members have played in Major League Spring Training games, Dante Bichette Jr. (New York Yankees) and Chris Okey (Cincinnai Reds), Forest Wall (Colorado Rockies).  The Orlando Baseball Academy have had 3 first round selections Forest Wall (Colorado Rockies 35th pick), Ryan Mountcastle (Baltimore Orioles 36th pick), and Dante Bichette Jr. (New York Yankees 51st pick).  There have also been 3 former OBA players drafted in the 2nd round as well.  Chris Okey (Cincinnati Reds 46th pick), J.B.
