Three Former OBA Players Drafted in 2019 MLB Free Agent Draft

The Orlando Baseball Academy is proud to announce that there were 3 former OBA Players taken in the 2019 June Amatuer MLB Draft, making them the 31st - 33rd players from the Orlando Baseball Academy to play professional baseball.

 

Right handed pitcher Evan Lumbert was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 24th round (716th) out of Florida Gulf Coast University.  Evan was assigned the the Arizona Rookie League for the Giants.

 

Right handed pitcher Blake Baker was taken in the 25th roung (743rd) by the San Diego Padres out of Miami Dade Community College.  Blake was assigned the the Arizona Rookie League by the Padres.

 

Outfielder Kerry Carpenter was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 19th round (562nd) out of Virginia Tech.  Kerry was assigned to the Gulf Coast Rookie League by the Tigers.
