Michael Taylor Named Player of the Year
2/9/2010

Former Apopka High School and Stanford University star baseball player, Michael Taylor was just named the Philadelphia Phillies Minor League Player of the Year.  This honor comes with an enourmous amount of hard work and dedication to his profession.

Michael was a member of the Blue Darter baseball program from 2001 - 2004, where OBA Director Brian King was an assistant coach during those years.  Taylor helped lead the Blue Darters to a 2004 6A State Championship Game, before moving on to Stanford University.

Michael has actively worked with the Orlando Baseball Academy, as last fall he spent more than an hour of his time speaking with the players of OBA about the trials of being a student / athlete and then of professional baseball.  Taylor also did a good bit of his pre spring training preparation by hitting in the warehouse facility with Coach King and Dante Bichette Sr. in January and Febuary before spring training.
